Miralon (Nanocomp)

Problem.
Nanocomp Technologies was developing a revolutionary material made of carbon nanotubes designed to be super-strong, ultra-lightweight, and withstand the harshest environmental conditions – even in space. They needed a name that would both showcase and simplify the complex science behind the product.
Solution.
The name Miralon comes from blending the word miracle with a common ending for fabrics,-lon. The sounds are both smooth and strong, and the meaning speaks in an easy way to the amazing array of uses – everything from strength, ductility, and electrical conductivity to thermal transport. Today, you can find Miralon in space on NASA’s Juno spacecraft exploring Jupiter.
