Problem

As Sendinblue was scaling beyond simple automation and messaging, the company faced a common reality: they had outgrown their name.

In their own words, “Sendinblue” was tied to sending emails — one product, one function, one moment in time. Yet the business had evolved into a suite used by millions across 180+ countries. The leadership team recognized what their customers already felt: the name was too narrow, too literal, and carried legacy baggage that no longer matched the ambition of a category challenger.

They needed a contemporary name with global resonance. A name that supported their mission “to help every business build stronger relationships” — not just send messages.

Solution

Lexicon created Brevo, a concise, energetic name engineered for a broader future. Drawing from the French word “bravo” – a word that celebrates success – Brevo is an uplifting name. It is a promise to help their customers succeed.

The -EVO evokes evolution and forward motion. The result is a name with warmth and global accessibility — instantly pronounceable in dozens of languages. It signals momentum without confining the company to any single feature or channel.

Internally, Brevo represented something deeper: the shift from a tool to a platform; from transactional communication to long-term relationship building. As they wrote in their rebrand announcement, “We’ve evolved — and our name needed to evolve with us.” Brevo gave them a new vessel capable of carrying their new vision.

The impact is now undeniable. In December 2025, TechCrunch reported that Brevo raised $583M at a unicorn valuation to compete directly with CRM giants — a milestone that validates the scalability of the brand. A contemporary name that sets the tone for a company now operating on a global stage.

Bravo to Brevo!
