Source Logistic had the ability to connect printers from any location in the world to a universal print cloud accessible to anyone. When they asked us to create a new corporate name, they gave us a simple but compelling message: “We want to enable everyone to access creativity — their own or others.”
Create a name that no other printing or technology company would dare to consider, a name that offered a distinct and colorful point of view. While appetite appeal might be counterintuitive for most, Source Logistic saw that the name Gelato had universal appeal. Gelato now delivers printed materials to 40 countries, reaching a total population of 1.2 billion people. In its home country of Norway, its valuation has reached NOK 1.5 billion.
Start-ups are different. They need names that signal the company and its products are about the future, not the past. We have always enjoyed close ties to Silicon Valley, and our credentials include revolutionary and billion-dollar brands such as PowerBook and Pentium. This tradition has continued with more recent cutting-edge innovators such as Ten-X, Lucid Motors, Lightbend, and Tangible Science.
